FULL VIEW

This is my entry for the 7 Deadly Sins contest. I started planning this about a week and a half ago and I feel that the hard work and the money spent on this project has been worth while.

Costume

The costume was made by a relative friend of mine. I wanted it to be fairy-like and very natural with a earth feel to it. The make up was a design that I came to and practiced several times in order to get the balance right for the feel of the piece. I extended the eye shadow because I feel that envy is like a disease that takes you over and I wanted to make up to reflect that. I wanted the hair to look like she had been pulling at it in frustration of the fact that she wasn't in a relationship. I obviously used green as a theme ('green with envy').

Set

I used a box window to make it seem like the model was trapped and that her envy was trapping her. The pictures all around the window (every one of which I took myself) were to sybolise her envy turning into obsession. The green flying objects that can be seen were leaves that were thrown just as the shot was taken. I chose leaves to keep in with the natural side of things, and I liked the colours and tones that we were able to get from them as an effect. The scrawlings of the word 'Envy' in the window were written on with a washable window marker and I used this to sybolise her frustration with her own state of mind. In the edit all that was done was a saturation and contrast alteration and a removal of what could be seen outside the window. I chose to leave the wire box in, as I feel it made the picture seem to have that extra bit of charm to it.
